"And the Grinch, with his Grinch feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more."
Dr. Seuss

I love the wonderful holiday celebrations that surround the Christmas season but my fondest memory of Christmas is the annual Christmas Eve service at our church. We belonged to one of the most beautiful churches in the city...it was like being in the interior of some incredible very old ship. It didn't have walls covered in gold but the warmth the huge old timbers gave off was awesome. We along with what seemed like everyone else in the city filled it to overflowing each Christmas Eve. The candles, the choirs, the Christmas story and the caroling in the flickering candlelight...made it a magical place. The organist knew how to let the organ rip till you felt each note rattle not only the timbers but the very core of your being. No matter what sadness had happened during that year, somehow it just melted away in those moments of praise, renewed hope and peace.
I wish for you all that same peace.
Merry Christmas!
