"The march of invention has clothed mankind with powers of which a century ago the boldest imagination could not have dreamt."
Henry George
"Screens" would have to be my answer to today's question. Whether it be a tv, a computer, a dx, an iphone, skype...my grandchildren could not imagine their lives without them. I know life would appear to be more boring...but it actually wasn't. When I was a little child, none of these things were an active part of my world, except for the black and white tv and its limited programing. What was different is we were incredibly involved with our immediate neighborhood. Our world was smaller and slower, that's for sure. Our most common source of information came from books on our bookshelves. Hackers were actually some neighbor who was listening in on our telephone's party line, a shared phone line most of us had. Private lines were definitely a God send.
I could go on and on... but I love these "screens" and how they have taken my little world of childhood and opened up the whole world to my experience.
PS The new blog is getting closer to its debut...stay tuned!
.
very nice...
